CAD

CAD is stand for Computer Aided Design, use of computer technology for the design of objects, real or virtual. In particular, the design of geometric models for object shapes, is often called computer aided geometric design (CAGD).

This software involves more than just shapes, used to design curves and figures in two-dimensional 2D space or curves, surfaces, or solids in three-dimensional 3D objects. Currently, CAD is become an important industrial art extensively used in many applications, including automotive, shipbuilding, aerospace industries, architectural design, industrial and architectural visual art, prosthetics, and many more. This software also widely used to produce computer animation for special effects in movies, animation, advertising, and technical manuals.

Current CAD software packages is range from 2D vector-based drafting systems to 3D solid and surface modellers. So, CAD become an especially important technology within the scope of computer-aided technologies, where benefits such as lower product development costs and a greatly shortened design cycles. People that work in this field are called: Designers, Cad Monkeys, Automotive Design Engineers, Drafter, Technical Drawing, or also Digital Innovation Engineers.
